PLAYER MOVEMENT SYSTEM

The goal was to make movements that felt as responsive as possible so that the player could feel comfortable when exploring and escaping from the monster.

I worked on this system while listening closely to the game designers' feedback in order to tweak settings and end up with the best results we could get.
Hush is a short horror game made in 4 weeks. The goal is to find four levers scattered in an ever-changing basement. The place is shrouded in darkness, therefore it will be needed to use the flash of your camera to find your way around. Once all of the four levers are activated, the goal is to escape thanks to the elevator.

LEAD PROGRAMMER & DIRECTOR

I initially began the project as the lead programmer since the two other programmers wanted someone to lead them and give directions for the work pipeline.

I ended up leading, coordinating and validating the work of the artists, designers and programmers while keeping an eye on the schedule & dead lines to provide a polished game for our final presentation.
UI DESIGN & SAVE SYSTEM

I worked on the UI design and system while constantly thinking about the polished effect that it would add to the game once finished.

I also worked on the save system, in order to keep the player's options without losing any settings after a game restart or closing.
Overall this project was a ton of fun to do since it was my very first experience on making a game with both designers and artists on a large timescale. I really liked coordinating and leading the workflow between the team members.

It was also the first time I used Unreal Engine 5 for a project, and it was quite easy and pleasant to get used to.
